Contribution to the study of morphological variance between the isolates of Aspergillus niger obtained from different localities in Slovakia.

Abstract

Paper is focused on the dominant Aspergillus niger Tiegh strain isolated from three different localities in Slovakia. Morphological differences among cultures of isolated Aspergillus niger grown in Czapek Dox agar and glucose yeast pepton media were observed after 25 days of cultivation. The strain isolated from Gabčíkovo fluvisoils revealed 100% production of black conidial heads while the strains from Krompachy and Rudňany geographically situated in Spišsko-Gemerské Rudohorie Mts formed reduced, smaller, light brown even grey conidial heads. The heads become coloured after 39 days. Localities Krompachy and Rudňany are permanently under influence of heavy metals mainly Hg and Cu.
